Tygart Trading Post is a natural extension of its parent shop, Tygart Mountain Sports. Since opening in 2014, Tygart Mountain Sports has grown beyond our wildest expectations in almost all categories. During this growth, we were constantly asked for items that were not available in Ludlow or the surrounding areas. We began making a list of these items with the thought that we might be able to carry them in our original store. We soon found out that the number of items was beyond the limits of our shop.

 

In early 2020 (pre-pandemic), we began toying with the notion of opening another store with a focus on the necessities that locals and tourists alike seemed to always be looking for. During the winter of 22/23, we had the good luck to obtain a great location in Lamere Square and couldn't pass up the opportunity.

 

We began quietly searching for a general manager that had the values and drive that we do, along with a caring, family approach to human interaction. We were wildly lucky to have met, and subsequently hired, Abbey Frenz to run the new store.

 

The store's focus is family footwear, lifestyle clothing, and home goods. Our brands include Saucony, Merrell, Blundstone, Birkenstock, Fjall Raven, Patagonia, and Cotopaxi. We have an offering of other essentials like underwear, bed linens, bath linens, along with Vermont and Okemo souvenirs and clothing.

 

We recognize our inventory as a fluid thing, and expect that there will be items we may not have that you may need. Please don't hesitate to offer up ideas, we're always on the lookout to be able to serve the community we live in.
